Information we collect

Depending on how you use our websites and services, we may collect:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • telephone number;
  • billing and delivery addresses;
  • order and transaction information;
  • information about products or services you purchase;
  • gift-recipient details;
  • gift, card or personalised messages supplied with an order;
  • enquiries, correspondence and customer-service records;
  • newsletter subscriptions and marketing preferences;
  • prize-draw entries;
  • optional feedback provided through forms or prize draws;
  • social-media usernames and messages where you contact us through a social platform;
  • IP address, browser, device and website-usage information; and
  • any other information you choose to provide to us.

Where a product, service or prize is age-restricted, we may also request information necessary to confirm eligibility or age.

Payment-card information is normally processed securely by our payment providers. We do not ordinarily retain your complete card details ourselves.

How we obtain information

We may obtain personal information:

  • directly from you when you place an order, complete a form, enter a prize draw, subscribe or contact us;
  • from another person who orders a gift or arranges a delivery for you;
  • through our websites, cookies and similar technologies;
  • through social-media platforms where you communicate with us; and
  • from payment, delivery, ecommerce and other service providers involved in processing your request.

Where someone provides your details as the recipient of a gift, we use those details only as reasonably necessary to prepare and deliver the order, deal with delivery matters and meet our legal obligations.

How we use personal information

Orders and services

We use information to:

  • process and fulfil orders;
  • take payment;
  • personalise products or gifts;
  • arrange delivery;
  • communicate about orders;
  • deal with refunds, cancellations, complaints and enquiries; and
  • maintain appropriate transaction records.

We rely primarily on the need to perform our contract with you and, where applicable, our legal obligations and legitimate interests in operating our business.

Customer service

We use information to respond to enquiries, resolve problems, manage complaints and provide support. Our lawful basis is normally performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in providing effective customer service.

Stream Street prize draws

When you enter a Stream Street prize draw, we may collect your name, email address and any optional feedback you choose to provide.

We use this information to:

  • accept and verify entries;
  • prevent duplicate, automated or fraudulent entries;
  • select a winner at random;
  • contact the winner;
  • confirm eligibility;
  • arrange delivery of the prize; and
  • retain reasonable evidence that the prize was properly administered and awarded.

Any feedback question is optional unless expressly stated otherwise and does not affect an entrant’s chance of winning.

Prize-draw information is not automatically added to our marketing lists.

Where required to demonstrate that a prize was awarded, we may make limited winner information available in accordance with the applicable prize-draw terms.

Newsletters and marketing

We may send newsletters, product information, offers and other marketing where you have asked to receive them or where the law otherwise permits us to do so.

This may include communications relating to:

  • Interdelightful;
  • Stream Street;
  • The Gazette;
  • our shops and Inter brands;
  • products and services; and
  • special offers or promotions.

Where consent is required, marketing consent will be separate from placing an order, entering a prize draw or using another service.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.

Where legally permitted, we may also contact existing customers about our own similar products or services under the electronic-marketing rules.

Our lawful bases

Depending on the circumstances, we process personal information because:

  • it is necessary to perform a contract with you;
  • it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation;
  • you have given consent;
  • it is necessary for our legitimate interests, provided those interests do not override your rights; or
  • another lawful basis applies under UK data-protection law.

Our legitimate interests may include:

  • operating and improving our business;
  • providing customer service;
  • administering fair prize draws;
  • preventing fraud and misuse;
  • maintaining security;
  • keeping appropriate business records;
  • understanding how our websites and services are used; and
  • establishing, exercising or defending legal rights.

Who we share information with

We may share personal information where necessary with organisations that help us operate our business, including:

  • ecommerce and website providers;
  • website-hosting providers;
  • payment processors;
  • banks and payment services;
  • email and newsletter providers;
  • online-form providers;
  • customer-service and communications providers;
  • couriers, postal operators and delivery partners;
  • florists, fulfilment partners and suppliers where necessary to complete an order;
  • IT, security and fraud-prevention providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • accountants, insurers, legal advisers and other professional advisers; and
  • government bodies, regulators, law-enforcement organisations or courts where legally required.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

International transfers

Some of the organisations we use may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will use appropriate protections required by UK data-protection law, such as an approved adequacy arrangement, contractual safeguards or another permitted transfer mechanism.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to satisfy legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.

Typical retention periods include:

  • orders and financial transaction records: normally up to 7 years;
  • customer-service and complaint records: normally up to 3 years after the matter is closed;
  • unsuccessful prize-draw entries: normally up to 6 months after the prize has been awarded;
  • prize-draw winner and administration records: normally up to 3 years;
  • general enquiries: normally up to 2 years after the last meaningful contact; and
  • marketing records: while you remain subscribed, together with a limited suppression record after you unsubscribe so we can respect your preference.

We may retain information for longer where necessary to comply with law, resolve a dispute, prevent fraud or establish or defend legal claims.

Cookies and website technologies

Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies are necessary for websites to function properly. Others may be used for purposes such as:

  • remembering preferences;
  • website security;
  • measuring website use;
  • analytics; and

Where the law requires consent for a non-essential cookie, it will not be used unless appropriate consent has been obtained.

Marketing choices

You do not have to agree to marketing in order to:

  • purchase from us;
  • enter a Stream Street prize draw;
  • contact us; or
  • receive a prize.

Where we ask for marketing consent, this will be presented separately.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

We may retain your email address on a suppression list after you unsubscribe so that we can make sure you are not inadvertently added back to marketing communications.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase personal information;
